Afterhaving Measles Can One Get It Again?

If you lot've already had the omicron strain of COVID-xix, can you get it once again?

We asked three peak Boston doctors this week, and the respond is... they're not 100% certain.

The doctors did their best to reply our questions during NBC10 Boston's weekly"COVID Q&A" series Tuesday.

Here's what they had to say:

Can you go omicron more than than once?

"I don't call up that the data is clear," Boston Medical Heart's Dr. Sabrina Assoumou said this calendar week. "I think that what we exercise know is that, in full general, if you get infected with a detail variant, let's say omicron right now, which is the predominant variant, and if you got infected in December, you probably got omicron, so yous're wondering, you know, can I become omicron again?"

"I hold," added Dr. Shira Doron, hospital epidemiologist at Tufts Medical Center. "I think that i of the things that may be causing some confusion on this issue of reinfection is with the increased use of at dwelling tests, antigen tests, at that place has become a bit of a confusion again almost what is a PCR, what is an antigen exam, repeat testing. And what's happening is with this talk of examination-to-exit or testing afterwards yous've been infected with an antigen to come across if you're still contagious, people take started to retest with PCRs after somebody has COVID.
