This is one of my favorite 'inexpensive meal' recipes that I learned from my Southern cookin' Dad. Creamy hamburger gravy with but the right blend of spices is perfect served over bootleg biscuits, mashed potatoes, rice, fried potatoes.. but almost anything!

- Crumble the ground beef into a big deep skillet over medium-high oestrus. Cook and stir until evenly browned. Bleed most of the grease, leaving simply plenty to glaze the pan. Add the onions, and cook for a few more minutes.due north
- Pour four cups of the milk into the pan, and stir to scrape up any bits of nutrient that could burn on the bottom of the pan. Mix in the bouillon, butter, sage, salt and pepper. Bring to a eddy, and melt for v minutes, stirring frequently.n
- Mix the flour into the last cup of milk until shine. Slowly pour into the skillet, stirring constantly. Simmer for a few minutes to thicken. Steps:
- In 10-inch skillet, cook beef over medium rut, stirring occasionally, until browned; drain. Stir in soup, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Spread mixture evenly in bottom of 6-quart slow cooker. Pinnacle evenly with frozen vegetables.
- In 2-quart bucket, heat water and butter to a rapid boil. Remove from heat; stir in milk and dry potatoes until merely combined. Let stand up 1 minute, and then stir over again. Spread evenly over top of vegetables in deadening cooker.
- Cover and cook on Low rut setting 4 to 5 hours or until warm and vegetables are cooked through.
- Serve warm sprinkled with herbs.
